Opencast working--In open cast working,the following precautions shall be observed,namely: In alluvial soil,morum,gravel,clay,debris or other similar ground-;*the side shall be sloped at an angle of sefty not exceeding 45degree from the horizontal or such other angle as the regional inspector may permit by an order in writing are subject to such conditions as he may specify therein;or the side shall be kept benched and the hight of any bench shall not exceed 1.5meter and the breadth thereof shall not be less than the height:।
Provide that the regional inspector may,be an order in writing and subject to such conditions as he may specify therein, exempt form the operation of his clause any working in the case of which special difficult exist,which in his opinion make compily with the provisions their of not reasonably practicable;and where any pilar is left in situ for the propose of measurement,it's height shall not exceed 2.5 meters,and where the height of such pillar exceed 1.25meter,the base of the pillar shall not be less than1.5meters in diameter.In an excavation in any hard and compact ground or in prospecting trenches or pits,he side shall be adequately benched sloped or secured so as to prevent danger from fall of side.In coal,the side shall either be kept sloped at an angle of sefty not exceeding 45degree from the horizontal or the side shall be kept benched shall not exceed three meter and the breadth thereof shall not be less than the height: provide that chief inspector may by an order in writing and subject to such conditions as he may be specific their in, exempt from the operation of this sub regulations any working,in the case of which special difficulties exist which in his opinion make compliance with the provisions thereof not reasonably practicable.No person shall undercut any face or side or cause or permit such under cutting as to cause any over hanging.
