SUSPENSION GEAR

All parts of suspension gear in regular use shall unless otherwise permitted by the chief inspector be renewed after a period of service of not more than ten years and at shorter interval if necessary.All cage chains in general use and all other parts of suspension gear between the rope and the cage or other means of conveyance including the detaching hok shall be taken part,cleaned and carefully examined as to wear and tear and for rust and cracks once at least in every six months,or if necessary at shorter intervals. 
                                                                             Every detaching bell or plate used in connection with a safety hook shall be examined and the opening therein checked by calipers or gauges once at least in every 30days.The Operation and examination required under this sub regulations shall be carried out by or under the supervision of the engineer or other competent person who shall record the date and other particular thereof in a bound paged book kept for the purpose and shall sign and date the same.

Audio visual alarm

  When a truck or dumper backs up a person standing behind the vehicle may get crushed.To alert such a person truck/dumpers are provided with audio visual alarm.As soon as the vechile is put in reverse gear, a special horn starts blowing and the backlight flashes.It is a statutory requirements that truck,dumper or loader shall not be run unless the audio visual alarm is working.
