Precautions after a fire has broken out

 On the appearance in any part of a mine,of smoke or other singns indicating that a fire or spontaneous heating has or may have broken out. Effectively step shall be taken without delay to deal with the fire or heating and all person other than those whose presence in the mine is deemed necessary for dealing with fire or heating shall be immediately withdrawn from the mine.No person other than those required for dealing with or sealing off the fire or heating,shall be redmitted in the mine untill the fire or heating has been extinguished or effectively sealed off and an examination has been made by the manager and the mine has been declared to be safe.

A report of every such examination shall be recorded in a bound paged book keept for the purpose and shall be signed and dated by the person making the examination. Provided that the Regional Inspector may by on order in writing and subject to such conditions as he may specify therein,permited the employment in the mine of persons other than those required to deal with the fire or heating.The examination required by clause shall be made with approved flame safety lamp and a cage containing suitable birds or other means of detecting carbon monoxide gas approved by the chief Inspector.No additional light shall be used other than an approved saftey lamp or torch.The manager of every mine shall prepare and established a detailed scheme for the provisions and maintenance of suitable fire fighting arrangment for the prevention, detection,dealing and control of any heating  or fire,for the examination and maintenance of the protective measure taken to control or isolated a fire or heating and ensuring saftey of person engaged in the said operation.The scheme shall be suitable modified and kept updated as the situation warrants. Examination by management as aforesaid after the area has been sealed off should include collection and analysis of air sample from behind the sealed off area.
