Stone dust barriers

In every gassy seam of the second or third degree[or in the development workings in a gassy seam of the first degree in which there is likelihood of occurrence of inflammable gas in dangerous quantity]additional precautions shall be taken by providing stone dust barriers to prevent an ignition of explosion from extending from one part of the mine the other.                                                                                                                Every such stone dust barriers shall be of such a type as may be approved by the Chief Inspector by a general or special order in writing and shall be maintained in such manner as may be specified in the said order :                                                            provide that the Chief Inspector may permit in any mine or part thereof alternative precautionary measure to be taken in lieu of stone dust barriers.                                                                                             If any dispute arises as to whether stone dust barriers or other alternative precautionary measure are required to be provided in any part of a gassy seam of the first degree under sub regulations (1),the question shall be referred to the Chief Inspector who shall decide the same.

Audio visual alarm

  When a truck or dumper backs up a person standing behind the vehicle may get crushed.To alert such a person truck/dumpers are provided with audio visual alarm.As soon as the vechile is put in reverse gear, a special horn starts blowing and the backlight flashes.It is a statutory requirements that truck,dumper or loader shall not be run unless the audio visual alarm is working.
